Last but not least, I thought I’d include another Transcriber self-care tip: I know it sounds cliche, but when a Transcriber has large amounts of transcription to do, it is truly beneficial to drink lots of water and keep healthy snacks nearby to keep one’s system strong and functioning optimally.
Then, without further ado, let’s kick off today’s Transcriber vacancies:
1. Legal Transcriptionist
Busy court reporting office is looking for an experienced full-time transcriber to work in our Annapolis (Cape St. Claire) office. The hours are M-F 8:30 – 5:00 and an occasional Saturday. This is a deadline-oriented environment. Excellent English skills and advanced MS Office is a must. Candidates must be well organized, efficient, productive, detailed oriented, able to work well with a team and can obtain a security clearance. Duties include proofreading/auditing transcripts, data entry and recording interviews. The rate begins at $15.63/hour plus benefits.

2. Legal Digital Verbatim Transcriptionist
Heritage Reporting Corporation, a privately owned nationwide court reporting and transcription firm based in Washington DC, has immediate openings for full-time and part-time legal transcriptionists. Legal transcription experience is required (medical transcription experience will NOT be considered for fulfilling this requirement).
Job description:
Transcribe and proofread verbatim transcripts of court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings from digital audio files utilizing supplied templates.
May perform work from home office located in USA if using own equipment
Must commit to minimum 300 pages (25 lines per page) per week.
Must submit final transcribed and proofread work in client ready product format within assigned turnaround time.
Qualifications:
Transcribe minimum 85 wpm.
College Degree and 2 years legal transcription experience or High School Diploma with minimum 5 years legal transcription experience (medical transcription experience will NOT be considered for fulfilling this requirement).
Proficient with word processing software (MSWord, WordPerfect 12).
Firm mastery of English grammar and spellings, extensive vocabulary, and familiarity with legal terminology.
Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
AAERT Certification is preferred but not required.
U.S. Citizenship is required and work must be performed in the U.S.
Will be required to apply for and successfully obtain federal security clearance.

We have immediate openings for iScribes Virtual Medical Scribes.

Overview
iScribes Virtual Medical Scribes work directly with physicians and learn about medicine by listening to and documenting patient encounters. Scribes listen to recorded patient visits and are responsible for updating the electronic medical record with pertinent, well-written medical history, physical examination, assessment and plan, findings and procedures, within a clear time limit. Scribes will work a minimum of 24 hours a week, between Monday and Friday and will service 2-3 doctors who will count on you as a member of their medical team! Scribes benefit from flexible hours and the ability to work from home. Pay is $10 per hour after initial training, which starts at $8.50/hour. There are productivity-based bonuses in place, and internal career opportunities.

Position Requirements
You must complete the application and successfully pass the Candidate Assessment.
You must have a typing speed of at least 60 words per minute.
You must reside and be authorized to work in the United States.
You must work in a secure and private location on a computer with a reliable high-speed internet connection.
You must be able to complete all documentation for 8-hour provider shifts at least three days per week. All work must be completed by noon of the day after the provider’s shift.
Candidates must provide their own computer and have the most up to date version of Google Chrome.
Qualifications
Excellent listening skills and ability to understand diverse accents and dialects of physicians, their staff and patients.
Excellent professional writing skills, including advanced proficiency in English grammar and spelling.
Ability to work under pressure and consistently meet tight deadlines.
Proficiency with or the willingness and ability to learn medical terminology.
Ability to speak, read and write the English language fluently.
Proficiency in the Google suite of products, specifically Google Drive, Google Docs and Google Hangouts.

4. Law Enforcement/Criminal Transcription
Vendors / independent contractors who can transcribe audio content of criminal investigations, internal affairs, and various law enforcement audios. Contractors must have prior verbatim, multi-speaker transcription experience. The most successful candidates will have experience transcribing for a law enforcement agency (police department, sheriff’s department, etc.), court reporting experience, or similar. Whether you want to transcribe full-time or part-time, we have more than enough work to go around.
New orders are available Monday through Friday with turnarounds that vary from same day to 5 business days. The majority of our orders are 3 business days. Our order pool allows you to choose orders that fit into your schedule – displaying length of audio and turnaround for each order. You may claim anywhere from a couple orders a week up to fully booking yourself a “full-time” amount of orders.
A full criminal background check is required for individuals completing this work. There is an initial assessment period before any vendor is able to complete client work. Therefore, it is essential that you have prior Law Enforcement transcription or court reporting experience and are able to proof your work to be at least 98% accurate.
Pay is per audio minute and dependent on the turnaround time. Detailed information regarding pay rates will be sent to all qualified applicants after the application is reviewed.
**MEDICAL TRANSCRIBERS: If your experience is with Medical transcription only, your application will not be considered for this opportunity. Please apply or register for future openings for our General transcription or LE Dictation opportunity which will be a better fit for your experience.**
You must be a citizen of the United States, residing in the United States. Note: Due to legislative restrictions, residents of California and Massachusetts are not eligible for this opportunity.
- You must be willing and able to begin immediately.
- You must be able to pass a full criminal background check.
- You must have prior verbatim multi-speaker transcription experience that is similar to the types of audios we transcribe. The most successful candidates will have experience transcribing multi-speaker audios for a law enforcement agency (police department, sheriff’s department, etc.) or court reporting experience. We may also consider other legal transcription experience.
- You must have excellent time management skills and be able to meet deadlines.
- You must type 80 words per minute.
- You must have excellent grammar and proofreading skills.
- You must be able to type and then proof your documents to 98% accuracy.
- You must have a PC that can run a transcription software package of your choosing.
- You must have a high speed Internet connection.
- You must demonstrate strong computer literacy and be proficient with MS Word.
- You must be able to open Excel documents (proficiency not needed).
- You must be able to proficiently use Search Engines, a Web browser and email.
- You must use good quality headphones (preferably noise canceling) and a foot pedal for audio playback. **Note: If you do not have a foot pedal yet and are going to purchase one after receiving word that you have qualified, we recommend an Infinity brand foot pedal.
