2. Transcriptionist
As a Transcriptionist, you are responsible for coordinating patient cases and ensuring that you satisfy pathologist and client expectations.The role requires dictation and transcription as well as compilation of summary reports. You will oversee patient case logistics and ensure operational turnaround times are met. Does this position sound like you?
Compile and assign Pathology cases for Neo Complete/ Limited Consult Reports.
Assess caseloads, prioritize assignment based on guidelines and Pathology Schedules.
Ensure Synopsis reports are reviewed and signed out in a reasonable time and follow up as required.
Ensure an efficient case workflow between Transcription and Pathology.
Coordinate cases for off-site Pathologists.
Troubleshoot missing or delayed cases.
Handle the dictation of consult cases, enter data relating to the case, and assign.
Upload and transcribe reports from Send-Out labs.
Build the Consult Pending List.
Maintain and manage key accounts.
Identify and monitor progress of STAT cases.
Transcribe the grossing information for the MRP cases.
Ensure receipt of material(s) is documented appropriately.
Prioritize all interdepartmental communication by responding promptly to requests and concerns.
Q/C reports.
Identify and report quality/compliance concerns and take corrective action.
Assess and respond to situations where standard protocol has failed to resolve customer issues, escalate problems as required.
Serve as a liaison between the Pathology Staff and the various departments within the company.
Comply with company and departmental controls and standards.
Document all actions taken on behalf of the client in the LIS In alignment with Standard Operation Procedures (SOP).
Attend department meetings as required, perform UAT testing and attend company in-service training to improve knowledge of testing and systems.
Other duties as assigned by Path Support leads and management.
Additional Responsibilities (may be assigned):
Preparation of pending reports, specimen logs and volume reports.
Coordinate execution of special projects as requested.
Assist with the Q/C process of incoming and outgoing specimens.
Experience & Required Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or Bachelor degree preferred.
Experience: Three or more years of equivalent experience working in an administrative support capacity. Experience in a medical environment and knowledge of clinical/oncology-specific terminology preferred.
Proficient in MS Office programs.
Communicate effectively using written and verbal skills.
Interact appropriately with colleagues, clients and pathologists.
Strong organizational and follow up skills.
Ability to work independently and as teammate.
Work in a dynamic, multi-tasking environment while maintaining a high rate of productivity and quality.
Demonstrate strong analytical skills.
Deliver a high level of accuracy and be detail oriented.
Willing to work in a biohazard environment and follow safety policies and standards outlined in the safety manual.

3. Independent Contractor Medical Transcriptionist/Editor

Tired of running out of work? We are staffing for new contracts and have both full-time and part-time work available in acute care, oncology, and physical medicine & rehab accounts! Minimum commitment is 20 hours/week. Shifts are negotiable and flexible, but preference is for availability that includes Friday-Monday dayside or Mon/Wed/Fri evenings. Greater than 90% of the work is VR editing.
Qualifications:
Successful completion of a qualified medical transcription/editing course required OR minimum 2 years medical transcription/medical editing experience.
Strong research skills and the ability to understand diverse accents, dialects, and varying dictation styles in order to consistently provide a high-quality finished product to the client.
Knowledge of medical transcription standard guidelines and practices (BOS 3 standards), applicable medical terminology and phrasing, and HIPAA requirements.
Excellent skills in English usage, grammar, punctuation, and editing.
Ability to apply client preferences as related in account specifics.
Proficiency with word processing software such as Microsoft Word as well as general computer skills.
Ability to work independently and productively with minimal supervision.
Rates:
4 cpl for VR editing;
7 cpl for transcription;
*Rates for MT/Es with less than 1 year experience will temporarily differ from those listed above; details provided upon submission of resume.
